Frequently Asked Questions
Most Common Questions asked.
What does hypnosis feel like?
There is no such thing as a “hypnotized feeling” but you will feel very mentally and physically relaxed.
Will I know what is going on?
Yes. You will be fully conscious and aware at all times. You will hear everything that is said and know everything that is going on around you.
Could I be influenced to do anything against my will or nature?oes Here
No. You would not do or say anything which conflicts with your personal moral code or beliefs. In fact you will be able to stop at anytime you choose. But it can enable you to do things you would like to do but something inside stops you.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Generally, yes it does require the ability to concentrate the mind for a few seconds. Very young children, people under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or people with certain mental conditions may not have the concentration required.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the individual and the problem we are dealing with. I never give an estimate on how many sessions it will take as this would only programme the client for that number of sessions therefore taking away the possibility that it can happen very quickly, possibly just one session. However, I would suggest to anybody that if they are not showing some signs of improvement after about three sessions they should either look at a different type of therapy or a different therapist.
Can I bring someone along with me?
Yes. I have no objections to bringing someone along at all times including initial consultation, counselling and hypnotherapy. In fact, for some people it can be a benefit for them to have someone with them so they can feel more relaxed and comfortable.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. You are welcome to come along for a cup of coffee and a chat, so you can talk about your problem and ask me any questions you may have. This gives you a chance to see if you feel comfortable to come back for another session at sometime. This is a free, non-obligation session.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Yes, they are totally confidential. This is one of the advantages with private therapy you can talk about whatever you want to and say whatever you like knowing that you can just walk away and it will not affect your life at all. Whatever you say stays within those four walls and is like stepping into a separate world for an hour or so.
